The lighthouse at Hopetown, Elbow Cay is one of the few remaining oil lamp/hand wound mechanisms operating.  Each evening the keeper lights the oil lamp and winds the weights to the top of the lighthouse.  As the weights fall they turn the table containing the oil lamp and the huge glass fresnel lenses.
